Ukraine offers excellent breaks for business and also marvelous travel destination for tourists from abroad. Ukraine has everything what a touristic place needs- beaches in the south and mountainous areas of the Carpathian Mountains, historical sights of the ancient cities.
Because of Ukraine's geographical position between Europe and Asia it is one of the key transportation hubs, specially in gas' and oil's domains.
Ukraine's architecture began developing in the 9th century during Rus era. Buildings were built out of wood including churches, fortifications, palaces. Exellent example of this style is in Chernihiv - the residential home. At the same time in Kievan Rus began to surge the Byzantine style. Both architectural styles had strongly effected each other. From the 12th to the 15th century castles, fortresses and protected monasteries were constructed in populated areas. In almost 100 years - late 1800s and early 1900s - Ukraine's architecture took on a variety of styles - modern, neo-classicism, neo-Gothic and Moorish.
Because of very old history (more thant 500 Ukraine's cities have more than 900 years) these are the national asset. There are great number monuments of culture, history, archaeology, citybuilding, architecture, palaces and park building art, 300 museums. There are monuments for Ukrainian people in 1648 – 1654 and World War II. The most famous architectural monuments are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The Middle Ages left hundreds of dumy - historical songs, folk poetry, symphonia, opera, tales, rituals.Ukrainian national traditions, customs, and oral folk literature reflect Old Ukrainian pre-Christian, and Christian cultures. The famous Ukrainian choral music's artists - Dmytro Bortniansky, Maksym Berezovsky, Artemi Vedel. Now it is a tradition to organise Tavriya Games, Opera art festivals, international organ and piano music festivals. In 1573 was started the first puppet theatre, the professional Ukrainian theatre - after the 1750s.
In 1958 at the International exhibition in Brussels Oleksandr Dovzhenko's film "Earth" was recognized as one of the best twelve films of all times and nations. He was one of the landmarks in twentieth century world cinematography and his works have entered the golden heritage of the Ukrainian and world cinema.
The poet and painter Taras Shevchenko affected Ukraine's classicism and realism.
