| Blue Mosque |
|
|
Blue Mosque is situated in large square, not far from the Hagia Sophia, is called the Sultan Ahmet Square. The Mosque was ordered by Sultan Ahmet I in 1616. There is central domes (43m height and 24 m in diameter) with 6minarets, fountain, several harems granite and marble columns. The legends and decorations inside of the Mosque are gold-gilded on turqouise-blue tiles. Also is included the tomb of Sultan Ahmet, a medrese(theological school), a sanatorium, a soup kitchen for poor people and a marketplace.
