The Zindan (Prison) gate is one of the famous Kalemegdan fortress complex parts. It‘s placed in the Upper town, near today's Zoo. The Zindan gate was the entrance to the mediaeval fortress from the eastern side. The gates was built in XV century. It consists of two low round towers that could be defended with a bridge crossing the ditsh to the entrance between them.
