Lisbon is port city, well known in the world. Many famous travelers started their exploring trips from Lisbon port:Vasco da Gama, Thomas Cook, Columb and others. Many sculptures and monuments are builded for discoverers glory. The symbol of city is Belem on Tago river bank. It set in 16 century. Vasco da Gama started his expedition here. Not far away you can visit Mosteiro dos Jeronimos church. It was founded 16 sentury by king Dom Manuelio after sucsesful Vasco da Gama jurnay. It took 70 years to finish this charming building. The monastery cost an equivalent of 70 kg of gold each year during the construction. It is a prime example of what is called Manueline architecture. Today it is included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage and is very worth to see.
