| The Cathedral |

We advise to visit the hard of old town-the Cathedral. You will find the elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Part of the Cathedral of it was destroied during the 1755 earthquake and rebuilt later. The tower and a south window are the original building. The interior is the same glamouring as outside. The cathedral forms the centrepiece of the square. Just beside the cathedral is the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Assuncao dating from the 16th century - inside here is the Municipal Museum.
