| The Wawel Castle |
|
|
You cann‘t leave Krakow without seeing the Wawel Castle. It is among Europe's most beautiful royal castles. Located on a limestone hill (called the Wawel hill – hence the name) on the bend of the Vistula river, it is a sight that must have roused awe in the kings' visitors, and has been an object of national pride for many generations of Poles. It‘s the cradle of Polish history and culture. From the XIth century Polish kings resided in the Royal Castle and they were crowned and buried in the Wawel Cathedral. We advice to book entrance in advance. You can see Wawel Castle Chambers with the original renaissance and baroque furnishings, Wawel Cathedral.
