Malta

Malta (entered the European Union in 2004.) is a small island in the Mediterranean sea, the view here is wonderful, calm bays, sandy beaches and clear sea attracts tourists from all over the world.

Malta's capital is Valletta, but the biggest city is Birkirkara. Summers here are warm and dry, winters - calm and damp.

In Malta are endured remains of 5-6 thousands years old temples (these are older than pyramids of Egypt), catacomb's debris, in the museums of the country are a lot of art works from arabs and byzantines style.

During the XVIth century St.Mata's order ruled here and brought its tarditions and culture. In old stronghold still are living several hundreds descendants of order's. Malta is very catholic country (98%), abortions are forbiden, there are 356 churches here, it is more than one in each kilometre.

Melieha is a small resort town is loved because of its seaside and sandy beach (the longest in all Malta).

For the kitchen of maltese are typical the traditions of all the countries of Mediterranean sea - fish and other dishes from the sea food, wide variety of salads.
