| Notre Dame Cathedral |

|
Notre Dame Cathedral (Cathedrale Notre Dame) located in the capital center. A skilful combination of classicism and elegance, it blends perfectly into the skyline of the city. It was found in 1613 by Jesuits as the church. Later in 1870 Pope Pius IX proclaimed it a self-governing diocese and so the Church of Notre-Dame became a cathedral. The artistic decoration of the interior was gradually completed over a period of several decades. Nowadays there are several places to see inside such as the grave of duke, cathedral itself and also downstairs. Its main entrance is dominated by a large statue of Our Lady (Notre Dame).
