We highly recomend to visit one of the three Baltic states, situated between Lithuania and Estonia.. There are tons of intresting places and events in Latvia. It‘s worth to see: intresting museums, such as the Occupation Museum of Latvia, the Ethnographic Open Air Museum in Ryga or the Fire Fighting Museum; medieval castles, such as castles in Turaida, Bauska and Ventspils. Become familiarize with unique architecture, rich Latvian history and culture, unrepeatable lifstyle and traditions.
Before going to Latvia attend to what kind of festivals is going. On the 1st of July Ethnographic Days at the typical Latgale Farmstead goes in Ludza. Famous „Liepajas Dzintars” musical festival take place on 12th of August in Liepaja. Participate in Riga City Festival on 17-21 of August or celebrate together the Liguo in June and others.
You should visit the capital Ryga, where you can find not just great architecture, but also various clubs, restourants and bars. Don‘t round the third Latvian town Liepaja, see Military Port, Church of the Holy Trinity. Come to Ventspils and it‘s Livonian Order Castle, blue Flag Beach. A water park, the Piejūras campsite, Piejūras open-air museum and the Children’s Town are nearby. the widest waterfall in the Baltics can see in Kuldiga. It‘s on the River Venta - 2 m high and 249 m wide. Kuldiga Old Town and Old Bridge will facinate as well.
Visiting always includes tasting the authentic cuisines that are offered. The most popular dishes in Latvian cuisine include smoked salmon and trout; kotletes, or meat patties; skabu kapostu zupa, or cabbage soup; zirnu pikas, or pea balls; and Alexander Torte, which are strips of pastry with raspberry or cranberr; speka piradzini-sea pies.
