Venice (Venezia) is world renown romantic city on the water and should be visited. The town has unique spirit, which can be sensed passing through mysterious alleyways, narrow streets, endless mazes of backstreets and squares with tiny shops. Here are channels between houses instead streets, bouts and cutters replacing the cars. The city is build on 117 islands, and holds 150 channels between, connected by an impressive 409 bridges, of which only three cross the main channel. It’s necessarily to take a gondola ride. This unique Venetian boat is extremely ancient and is the result of a series of extremely complex craft techniques.
Venice is packed by hosting hotels, rental places and restaurants. But it’s one the most popular tourists attraction in the world, so we advice to book everything in advance. The most difficult things to find around peak time (from June to September), as well as around Christmas, New Year, and festival Carnevale in February.
What to bring home? There are lot of nice places for shopping: from souvenir shops with Carnival masks and Murano glass items, to the most luxurious high fashion boutiques.
