Perhaps the best starting point for tour around Iceland  is it‘s capital Reykjavik. The translation of the word Reykjavik-„bank in the fumes“. Despite that, the city is very clean and pure, all heating is with geothermal waters.  Reykjavik is very important center of country and the dominant fishing port as well. The main firm offices, education and academic institutions, hotels and informations centers are housed here. More than half inhabitants live in the capital.

The pearl of city is original unrepeatable Hallgrimskirkja church. It is the highest building in whole Island with fabulous panoramic view. The best way to get known the unique oldtown is on foot. Other worth like sightseeings are situated around:  cathedral of city, the first European parlament Altingi, the nacional museum and famous water reservoir.

The lobster soup is the first dish you have to taste in Reykjavik. The concoction, called humarsupa, is also very traditional. The best place where you can find these specialities (some of the other offerings, like hakarl, cubes of putrefied shark, are far less appealing) would be Saegreifinn, or Sea Baron.

If  it‘s not enough attractions at day time explore racy nightlife. There are lot of  nightclubs and bars, but the most Icelandic thing is the "Night circle". It starts every friday and Saturday at 10 o‘clock at Bar 11. You pay the settled amount money and have one hour free drinking, after you go to two different bars with a crowd of different icelanders and visitors where you get free shots and end up for free in pravda night club and a coctail. on the way they give you some eats.
