Piraeus is one of the greatest harbour in the Mediterranean sea, also one of the biggest Greece's city. In antiquity it was Athens harbour. In the Middle Ages Piraeus was only a small fhishermen city, bet after Athens became the capital of Greece here began to built modern factories, neoclassical buildings. In1923 here arrived about 100 000 refugees from the Little Asia, they brought their culture, traditions and gave cosmopolitical atmosphere to the harbour.

In the South from train station are standing fish's, fruit's and vegetable's kiosks. On Saturday's mornings here is a market of old stuff.

In the shadow of the Municipal theater are established cosy restorants and beautiful fountains.

In the Kastell (part of the town) are stylish bar and clubs, sorted out and workers area - Drapetson. This industrial place now is popular because of night restorants.
