Marseille is the third city and the main port in France. Discover Marseille through its millenial history and its museums, stroll in its parks and its gardens. The town setted around the old port- le Panier. There are lot of facinating ships, yachts, bouts and cutter variety, colorful hotels, restaurants and cofes.
Don‘t miss Le Canebiero boulevard. It‘s the main city street, starting from old town and uphill to reformer church. It‘s said Le Canebiero boulevard divided city in two parts: South part of bourgeois and North part of simple town-dweller‘s. Today this street houses Business chamber, lot of banks, shops and Museum of Fashion (Musee de la Mode).
Marseille proud of it‘s football team- Olympique de Marseille.
Marseille is a nice place for eating seefood. The most popular dish is fish soup-bouillabaisse. The two main kinds offered in local restaurants are Bouillabaisse du Ravi and Bouillabaisse du Pecheur. "Ravi", the most complete and including six different types of fish, is definitely a full meal. Bouillabaisse du Pecher is lighter and smaller, with three types of fish. Also taste famous regional wine from Provance-Cassis blanc de blanc; biscuits of Marseille, baked in the shape of the boat -navette; garlicky sauce (ajol) and traditional alcoholic drink-pascio.
If it‘s enough city go to fabulous coast. Marseille‘s beaches nice for resting or active water sports.
You can find famous Ifo castle in one of the Marseille island as well. The castle was famed by writer Alexander Duma in Graf Monte Crist novel. It‘s not so facinating by itself, but the place offer wonderfull panorama of Marseille city.
