| Toompea Castle |

Toompea Castle is the bastion of Tallinn located in the Upper old town part. A wooden fortification was originally setted on the same hill in the 9th Century, but was toppled by the Danes shortly after 1200 - who then made an impressive stone edifice, much of which we can see today.
