Print Print

Estonia situated next to the Baltic sea and has some islands in it. Saaremaa is the biggest one and a favourite summer holiday destination for locals, attractive for tourists. Saaremaa, its famous beer and charming towns like Kuresaare.

You can come by car or take a public bus, wich goes from Tallinn. The ferry leaves from Virtsu to Kuivastu. There is a brige, which connects Saaremaa with Muhu island.

We advice to visit Muhu island with it‘s church, fortress. It‘s worth see astonishing Uugu rock, Eemu windmil, Padaste estate, spectacular Kuresaare castle. Explore the Old Town of Kuressaare, deriving from the XVII-XIXth century. Nearby is a fresh meteor crater (only a few millennia old) at Kaali. Or just enjoy fresh aer and untouched remarkable landscape.

Koguva villige is like folk museum. Because of isolation, many of the old traditions that have been abandoned on the mainland quite some time ago, are still alive on the islands. Folk music, folk dances and choir singing have been popular for ages and continue to be today.
