Dubrovnik is well-known because of historical and cultural monuments. 700 years it was indipendent merchant's republic traded with Africa's countries and in the Middle Ages held diplomatical relations with English court. XI-XVI century's two km long wall with towers is still standing around Old Town only with two entrances, it was completed in the 13th century, but lools almost the same today. Inside the walls trere are churches, palaces and cultural monuments, Stradun - the main pedestrian street. Dubrovnik Riviera one of the most attractive destinations because of many islands, blue sea, rich natural and cultural heritage, historical villas and promenades. In 1991-1992 the Serbs shelled the city and caused huge damage, but international and local help the old town was rebuilt.
There are several gates very visiting by turists - Pile, Ploče, Peskarija and Ponta; the Mljet National Park, Dominican monastery, St. Blaise's church from 18th century and other interesting places waiting you to found them.
