Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established in 1244 and named Vrchbosna, nowadays name is since 1507.

Till the War of Bosnia in 1992 Sarajevo was very important cultural and trade centre. During the war, economic was very damaged, because great number of factories and buildings were ruined.

There are a lot of churches of Chatolic and Orthodox, synagogues and mosques, Science and Art academy, the National museum (is a perfect place to research country's history), café, shops within hand-made works. Tourists love Jahorina and Bjelasnica mountains, where they can ski. In 1984 the Olympic Games took place here.
