Mogilev is one of the oldest city in Belarus. First time it was mentioned in 1267, when the castle was founded on a high hill, latter during ages, the town formed around the castle and became a large trade and handicraft centre.
Today Moguilev is a modern industrial and a large cultural centre with pedagogical, machine building institutes and technical schools.
Here also are a lot of memorial complexes for memory the victory of Russia over Sweden; A bronze eagle; A monument temple within is a museum now. Without a palace of George Konisski in town are a lot of dwelling houses and buildings from the end of the XVIIIth and the beginning of the XIXth centuries.
