The oldest people (homo sapiens) lived in the today's Belarus territory about 30000 years ago.
In 1991 Belarus declared its independence.
The main fields of industry - production of cars, tractors, TV, radio, chemistry, food, paper, fragile, metalurgia and furniture. Minsk is the main centre of industry, others - Gomel, Mogilev, Brest, Gardin and Polock.
