In Salzburg since Middle Ages and the XIXth century South's and North's European traditions are alive. Salzburg was indipendent town for a long time, ruled by archbishops. For the tourists very deep impretion gives the old town, in it's centre is standing Cathedral, built in the XVIIth century, other churches, Hohensalzburg Fortress, fountains, W.A.Mozart's house and a lot of other interesting and must-visit places. Salzburg's old town was included UNESCO heritage list in 1997. Old town is and a most attractive shopping centre.

Here are great number of worht see places in and around Salzburg - Museum of clothes, here are exhibiting Austria's national costumes. Museum was established in the XVIIIth century. In Salzburg also here is and toys museum which takes place in a hospital. Within exhibiting ancient trains, dolls and very modern toys made in Austria; Getreidegasse is one of the well-known old town's pedestrian street in all Europe, here eare endured houses of the XVIth century, also here are modern and expensive caffe and shops; Mirabell Palace in 1560 was built by bishop Wolf Dietrich for his lover, but in the XVIII it was rebuilt by architect L.Hildebrant. Palace's garden was decorated with mythological greek's sculptures from marble; Saint Peter Church was built in the XIIth century. Cemetery also is worth to see. Into vaults is possible to go from May till September; "Little Istanbul" - much earlier it was large paper factory with a lot of immigrant workers, but it's atraction is the salt mines no longer used since 1989 just commercially by opening them to guided tours. If you want to relax after long and full of impressions day, should go to one of the hot springs and thermal spas.
